2019 Chevrolet Volt
It’s a given at this point: hybrids and electric vehicles are the way of the future, and every manufacturer is getting in the game. Have you ever considered a hybrid? Why not a Chevy Volt?
The Volt comes standard with a package of power locks/windows/mirrors, a premium sound system with steering wheel controls, USB port and an 8” touch screen, air conditioning, cruise control and all the creature comforts you’ve come to expect in today’s cars. There’s a lot more to the Volt than just comfort, though.
The Volt is a true fuel miser, rated at 42 mpg highway, which comes out to a 382-mile cruising range on each tank of gas. That, of course, is along with a 53-mile range strictly on battery power.
Engine and Drivetrain
Under the hood of the Volt, you’ll find a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 149 horsepower and 294 ft-lbs of torque. That’s along with an 18.4 kWh lithium-iron battery that can be charged with a portable 120-volt charging cord. It’s enough to scoot the Volt up to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds!
You can drive the Volt with real peace of mind – it got the IIHS Top Safety Pick for 2018 in crash tests. The LT Driver Confidence package also includes StabiliTrak, GM’s OnStar system, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, forward collision alert, lane management assistance, a following distance indicator and automatic high beams.
Pretty sweet all the way around!
